OPC Photo Trail

Show Your Photography on the OPC Photo Trail™

Bring Your Work to Life Across Vancouver Island. Outdoor Photography Canada is building a public art tech network across Vancouver Island and we want your photography to be a part of it.

Through the OPC Photo Trail™, we install framed images from local photographers inside high-traffic venues like cafes, hotels, visitor centres, and public spaces.

Each photo includes a discreet QR code that links to a digital project page where visitors can learn more, react in real time, and explore your full portfolio.

How It Works

Join Our Directory
Join our free photographer directory today. During registration, select “OPC Photo Trail” as one of the options under Categories. Fill in as much information as possible including phone, email, and location. A member of our team will reach out with onboarding instructions.

Photo Selection

You can volunteer specific photos or we can choose from your social profiles provided during registration. Submissions are curated based on quality, location relevance, and venue preferences. If we agree on a photo to enter into the program, we will send you an agreement document to sign. This provides us with the rights to add your photo(s) to the program

We Install the Frame
Selected images are printed, framed, and installed in curated venues. All displays include a QR code, OPC branding, and subtle overlay as needed for formatting.

The QR code will link to a project on FolioProjects.com outlining you as the photographer (if you create a profile), OPC as coordinator, the venue, and potentially other stakeholders. That project will also list links to related social profiles, related videos, and potentially a Buy Now link where visitors can purchase the framed photography.

Guests Interact
Visitors scan the QR code to:

  • Read the story behind your image
  • Explore your linked portfolio
  • Follow you on FolioProjects
  • Follow you on social media
  • Purchase prints (optional)
  • Leave a sentiment reaction via HueFlux

You Track Engagement
You’ll be able to see how your image(s) is/are performing with scan data, reaction breakdowns, location, and other metrics via FolioProjects. Information on creating a FolioProjects.com profile will be provided during onboarding, for those interested in viewing this data.
